Name Change & Brushing Up

If you have been visiting me before, you can see that I've been brushing dust and changing up the old blog layout since last time to give it a cleaner look. The photo on the header has been changed out to match the name, and the profile picture along with it. The biggeste change of all is a totally new name and address for my blog! It was carefully concidered (for a looooong time), as I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to do so.. But I've been thinking about changing the name for a while now, I wanted a name on the blog which reflected what I was writing about, rather than a name I've been using online for a while. Exactly what VirgineMary was.. I think Scary Mary is a better name for the blog all over, concidering my love for the darker elements in life and what I'm blogging about. I had to make it thescarymarys.blogspot.com, as that's what was available.. I added the "pinup and monster mash" to give visitors a quick idea. I'm really pleased with the change, hope that goes for you guys too;)

We can't forget it's also the birthday of my love, the Halloween child <3 Let them eat cake! A deliciously, horrrrrific, circus cake!! I want to make it as a circus grave yard, with chocolate powder as grave yard dust and creepy old, tilted, tomb stones spread around on the cake. I'll add some additional creepiness with my hand painted zombie clowns coming up from their graves.. I'm sure it will be totally unresistable for your sweet tooth... Rest in peace! Moooohahahahaahha

Yeeeaaahhiiii!!! The props has arrived, Christmas and birthday at the same time!! Unwrapping the gory goods is just as exciting every year..:) Like last year, we got our props from Halloween Asylum. Good prices and a much better assortment than we find in the stores here! Since we're doing the Freak Show this year, we will be doing a circus themed decoration. We will be reusing old props, making what ever we can and search the shops till we get that right feel to our place;) I've been shopping some cool, reproduced, vintage circus posters from Ebay, for the walls in the hallway and outside. I also found some vintage looking popcorn bags, so everyone can have their own lil' pop corn bag of horror.. I'm planning to mix in a few "chopped of "surprises... But before you reach for that popcorn people, a gentle warning from me; watch ya sticky, little fingers..!!

Yaaaaaawn...

I can feel my inner ghoul is scrambeling about and waking up, as the leaves turn yellow and fall to the ground... My favourite time of the year is finally here, dark and devious All Hallows Eve;) As every year me and my man has been spending the last few weeks thinking out what and how, and finding the right props to set the scenes for our theme of the year. This year we will have a good, old fashion Carnival Freak Show going on in our tiny appartment. I think it will be a funny theme to do! We are still throwing ideas and thinkering out everything we'll need. I think we have some good ideas to scene setters and how to get that circus feel to the place. Some things has been bought and is on it's way over the pond from the US. Can't wait to get started, making props and to slowly getting it all up:) ahah Till we get it all right and our small chattauw of darkness, once again rises from the dust.. Changing out "homy" and "cozy", to look more like a scene from a rather scary movie, or a bad dream of the kind that you really don't want to remember... I don't know why I love it so much, but to me it could be a touch of Halloween all year, and that would be just perfect:) lol

I found these sweet, lovely, handmade dolls at Etsy. Made by husband and wife, artists Dylan and Jo, stationed in Oregon. I love the delicate, dreamy colors, and the vintage and fairy tale like touch to them! They are all made one at the time and by order, and I'm sure with love and care;) They are available in their shop Cart Before The Horse at Etsy.

Sweet Spring Thrills and Trills...

Lovely, long, lazy easter days.. Spent in my beloved tights and hoodie, watching an endless flow of scary movies, fun movies when my dreams goes over to nightmares, and then some more scary movies when I just thought I had enough. Snacksing on chips and chocolate, which suddenly and convinient is popping out of the cabinet..

Wonderful, warm, vibrant easter Sunday, spent on a wooden bench outside the tiki bar.. All while the first, warming rays of sun hits the skin. First outdoors beer, cheers and people peeping;) An optimistic roar of Harleys and vintage cars filling the air...

A ladybugs first lazy steps, between our dobble glass windows on the toilet.. Gently released from it's winter nest, resting on my thigh before it liftes off into the chill easter evening..

The crows chased off, or maybe holding their breath.. Falling asleep to the beautiful trills of the nightingales, a gentle breeze caresses my cheek and bring promises of warmer days to come...

Waiting in anticipation to get the books I ordered online yesterday..:) Kat von D's book of tattoos, "High Voltage Tattoo". A book with her work, the stories behind the tattoos, her life and pictures to drool over.. I also ordered the book "1000 Tattoos" by Henk Schiffmacher, it has lots of old scool tattoos and old black and white photos of people with tatts from around the world. I really love the old style tattoo work! Also I find the photos of the people that got tattoos back in the old days really interesting. Rugged sailors, circus artists, free women, you name it!

I'm a total virgin when it comes to tattoos myself, nothing but pure, white virgin skin on my body! haha But I totally admire and love the art! Why I don't want any myself? Well, that's my statement of being different. Though I can't deny, I have been playing with the thought of getting under the needle.. My love has been a tattooist for years and is more or less covered in tattoos and still planning new ones. I simply love his tatts and find them very sexy;) We have a dream of opening our own shop here in Oslo, I think it would suit us perfect. I could do my things, he can do his tattooing. We'll see what happends, it's a big step to take and we have a few things that needs to be in place first.. In the mean while, I'll study the art;)

I'm not quite sure how I did it, but somehow I managed to forget all about it and walk away from my visa card at the ATM yesterday...:S So angry at myself, talking about being far away..!! Long day at work and not feeling to well, trying to get some swedish money changed into norwegian.. Argh!! Identity theft and drained bank account is running through my mind. That little card holds some sensitive information.. Hoping and praying that my card hasn't ended up in the wrong hands! Been through this before and I remember vividly how my bank account got drained within days, without being able to do nothing. Helplessly watching the money flowing out of it... Yeah, you get it back, but it takes time. Even if you notice the bank, there is a few places it can be used. At least at that time, according to the clerk in the bank, there isn't many places that you can use it anymore and 99% of the time the card gets returned to it's owner without being misused. Hope he's right!

Land Ladies from Hell, Tripple Shifts and a Funeral..

Life has been more than busy for me here lately.. Having the whole appartment search, trying to decide wether or not to move. While thinking it over, we are dealing with the land ladies here, two sisters. One wants to raise the rent by 1/3 if we decide to stay, that's after she at first wanted us to move. She think the place is too small for two, nothing she really can decide, as the law is clear on that part. But the contract has to be renewed 1. of April, so she can pretty much do as she pleases.. In the middle of dealing with that I received a letter from the other sister, wanting to raise the rent slightly since there has been some more expenses on the property this winter.. Don't think it's even leagel! Like I'm paying anything more for what we had to go through here this winter.. Chopping out big holes in our walls and the heater not working properly.. I told her what I thought and that the rent will be raised in April anyway.. Seems like the comunication between them two is next to nothing, and their business skills..

Last week was quite on the insane side..! Went through trippel shifts at work and a funeral on Thursday, a close revlative died. My moms cousin, we have been quite a bit with them over the years. Not an eye was dry at the reception, even my love was sitting and crying, though he only met him once. It's just the whole situation I think. He got the message that he has cancer a week before he died, he passed away 62 years old. Still a young old man, too early to go.. Seeing those who is left behind and their pain is really the most difficult part about it all I think.. His three sons, where the two youngest is still in their 20's, and his wife.. Life is such a fragile gift. It's a real reminder to make the most out of it while you actually have it!

At the end of the week I felt totally knocked out, mentally and fysically exhausted. I capitulated on the sofa with a beer in one hand, the remote in the other and a bowl of chips.. Hahah Knock out after 5 beer!extremely effective sedation.. Very needed;)

On the good side, my love has got a vacancy for Map Google!! He starts working this month, I'm so happy for him:) He also got back to norwegian classes this month. Finally things are moving in the right direction a little faster! Things will get easier and it's a great for him to have something more to do than cleaning dishes and making dinner.. Hmmm though I have to admit, I will miss my house husband:)

I can't help being other than utterly fascinated by Lady GaGa! I love all her crazy, jawdropping, little outfits!!:) Or should I say costumes? I think it's great that there is someone in the entertainment industry like her, she doesn't seem to give a f*** about what other people think about her, like a fresh breeze through Hollywood you ask me!;) Mmmmm... And why should she, she's a walking piece of art and I hope she keeps on expressing herself artisticly through her clothes.. She never stops surprising, she provokes and create reactions, ranging through the whole spectra, from love to hate. That's the beauty of it, she's art. No wonder she's the new muse in fashion.. Who cares if she's man, woman or both!? She's herself and that's plenty enough. Beautiful, fun, perfect and creative insanity! Me love <3

Trading swiss cheese for birds nest...

We have started the search after a new place to stay.. Exciting! Leaving the swiss cheese and it's many holes in not too long we hope:) The holes are still very much there. But on the bright side we're starting to get used to them by now and the temperatures has gone up, so at least we don't have to worry about freezing to death in the near future!

Since it seems like it will take some time for my husband to find work here, we have decided to find an other studio appartment. We checked out a few bigger appartments, but decided that it was better to have some money left at the end of the month. It would be so miserable living in a beautiful appartment, but not being able to go anywhere, do anything and have to flip every penny to make it. In other words; Yes to life and adventures!:)

Why is it sometimes so hard to decide what to do, just to know what would be the right decission to make? We found a bigger appartment that would have been perfect for us, just a bit expensive with our finance right now. It would have been so nice to start a new chapter there, but the timing could be better. Sometimes there is no rights and there can be more than one right, but in the end I think you have to go for your gutt feeling and what makes you happy at the end of the day. And that's just what we did. A little soul searcher in other words. What makes you happy, I believe the answer lies inside of you.. We can ask people, talk about it and get advices, but in the end we have to look inside to get the true answers to how we want to live our lifes in order to be happy. For me and us in this case, that is to be able to adventure life, feel free and to not have to worry about every little thing because the rent is to high.

Mmmmm I must admit, I would like some more room though and having a proper kitchen for one, and the bathroom inside my appartment, and not sharing it with two neighboures that's not so friendly with the soaps and scrubbers, and especially after living small for many years. And a balcony would be heaven!! But we will have all that one day... One day when things has fallen into place for us. Patience.

On the other side I don't see why I can't live like this a little longer! I'm used to having everything just within one arms reach;) It's practical and you never get to save up too much junk. Simply cuz you don't have the space..! Voil'a!! It's a true lovers nest and you have to love each other dearly to live this close, trust me... Which we do.

Living In a Swiss Cheese...

The last couple of weeks has been unbelievable cold! We've had temperatures down to -20 C/-4 F, and believe me that is COLD! Especially combined with an ice wind that seems to be blowing from north of Siberia..:/ I've been adding doubble and tripple layers of clothes so I won't freeze on my way to work, in other words not so happy for walking to work right now. Looking like wrinched up lemon, cuz I'm so concentrated on surviving.. ahha Mmmmm maybe I should get myself a little foldable bed under my desk?;) Guess I should feel "lucky" though.. Just outside town we've had temperatures much lower than this, like -30 C/- 22 F as a normal. I surrender, I give up, where's my summer?

Early Monday morning, I woke up to a very chillled, little loft appartment. I reached out to feel the radiator.. Ice cold! It usually happends every winter, but it couldn't have happend on a worse time than this!! Oslo feeling more like living in an ice box right now! Kitchen oven on full throttle, hoping I didn't have to get up to frosted windows.. Brrrrr!! So happy we live in one room, a few candles and the oven on keeps it warm:) haha

Turns out the burner in the basement had stopped working. Also one of the water pipes had bursed during the night, and of course they thought it might be at my place! Some where.. With no technical drawings, they didn't know where to look for the leakage and that some where proved hard to find:S Later on the same day, I got a phone call from my love, they had to make a hole in the wall.. One hole, two holes, three holes, four holes later, in walls, ceiling, even inside our closet and they still hadn't found the pipe!! And allmost ripped the floor up! Mighty chaotic in 17 square meters! I just had this ugly feeling it probably wasn't even in our place.. Grrrrr Turns out I was right.. They finally turned to the neighbores, which has been complaining about their kitchen cabinet being damp for a long time allready... Yeahiii for lazy care takers, ceap land ladies and plumbers with no technical drawings! Maybe they can make us a nice little balcony and a roof window while their at it, a few holes more..;)

I wish you all the best for the new year and a great new years celebration tonight, where ever you might be in this big small world!!;) Me and my love are joining some good friends for dinner at their friends house tonight. If we're lucky my sis and her boyfriend will be dragging their asses over to celebrate with us later:) At midnight we'll be at the roof balcony of the building with bubbles in our glasses, surrounded by firework, good friends and toasting for the new year that we're entering into!! I'm really excited for the New Year, I hope it will bring much joy and wonderful things for me, my friends, everyone close to my heart and all the rest of you people out there!!!;D

The snow has been falling heavily over the last few days, we're something as unusual as allmost snowed in down town! If I wanted to I could take my skies out and go skiing down the road and most likely I would get anywhere I needed to go... Probably the best way of getting around right now by far! We woke up to more snow yesterday morning, apparently it had been snowing all night.. The road into the house was all covered by at least a foot of snow. Usuallly we don't get much snow in town since it's warmer here, also it has a tendency to disappear or turn into wet, slushy, brown snow... Have to enjoy this while it lasts!!;)

I've had this song playing in my head over and over again the last few days...;) Big, white, soft snow flakes dancing down from above, drinking my Christmas toddy while snacksing on Christmas cakes. Yes indeed, it will be a very merry little Christmas for us this year, I wish you all the same! My thoughts goes to the ones that's not as fortunate as myself.

One thing life has taught me, you never know what life might bring you and be sure to put no boundaries on it.. As Judy Garland sang so beautiful "Hang a shining star upon the highest bough"... Live life to the fullest and may all your wishes come true!

Christmas time... <3

Finally we got all the Christams presents done, wrapped up and ready!! With Christmas carols on the speakers we packed them together like the little santa helpers team we are;) It all really put me in a Christmas mood! Something about listening to the same old Christmas carols as I have done every year since I was little, the smells and all the traditions...

Grandfather decided to gather the family this year some days before Christmas, which is the first since my grandmother passed away. My grandmother had her birthday a few days before Christmas, the whole family has come together at their place every year since before I was born. When we were kids it was all about making Christmas decoration, playing dress up with my grandma's old clothes (from her hippie periode) and biggest of all; who would get the almond in the Christmas Porage this year! All very exciting:) The winner would get a big marzipan pig which lasted all Christmas, sickening, but soooo O good! I remember my childhood Christmas parties as a very special time, allmost magical. It was never Christmas before we had been there. That's pretty much how I feel about them still.. This is the first year that I really feel the Christmas spririt again since my grandma passed. I think I finally got some more distance to loosing a very special person in my life, which I allmost was convinced would live on for ever. At least till a 100! I think we all did. She allways was so full of life, strong and filled with a force that seemed stronger than death it self. Therefore loosing her was a bigger shock than it may have been otherwise. Allmost like when a young person passes away.. It wasn't expected at all. Even when they found the cancer, I was sure she would be able to fight it, and I'm sure she would've.. Only it had spread so badly through her intestants that there was never really any hope. So veird how a person can seem healthy and strong as an ox one day, the next everything is turned upside down and nothing is like it seemed to be and it will never be again. She went through surgery, 88 years old. She would have had to live with a bag on her stomack the rest of her life. Horrifying for my grandma, a very proud person. I'm not sure if it was the cancer that ate her or the thought of the bag or both, but it all got to much. She refused to eat and slowly shrunk into nothing. She fell asleep one December morning, just as silent as the powdered snow crystals falling from the sky...

But life goes on, and it has. My grandfather finally seems to be doing good, though his thoughts is never far away from his love. The fact that he had the party this year says alot.. We had a really good time, gathered on her day, which has also become our day. Celebrating all those passed Christmases, the good time and memories that we have, but also all the Christmases that will come. Don't forget what has been, but never forget what you have and what that will be.

Concerning me, I have a very special person in my life.. Celebrating the first Christmas with him brings all the magic back!!;)

Some decoration from moms dinner table for Christmas eve, the 24. of December.. Which is when we celebrate Christmas in Scandinavia. We celebrate with a really nice dinner, usually with all kinds of traditional norwegian Christmas dishes. Santa come with gifts during the evening, so we actually get to see him;) We also walk around the tree while we're singing Christmas carols.. A very Scandinavian thing to do, I think we are alone about doing that in the world? (Correct me if I'm wrong). I remember one Christmas when we had my greek boyfriend (my ex) on a visit from Greece, I think he thought it was the most hideous thing he had ever seen.. He was standing on a chair taking photos while laughing hysterically. I'm not sure if it says more about him, us or my taste in men;) ahhaha

Or for those who want to make the most (?) out of their lawn ornaments and their holidays (????). The holiday flamingos!!! ahhaha When I thought I've seen it all... Hmm on the other side I guess it can be a good way to keep the holiday deco on a minimum, all you need is a mingo-closet on the attic and a couple of birdies stuck in your grass. Just dress up your pink plastic thingie on the lawn and you'll be all set for the holiday!

Cyberlove by first sight, part 2 <3

The second part of an impossible possible true cyberlove story coming up;)

After a year of e-mails, chatting, phoning, texting and what not else.. Living in despare and agony of being far away and daily craving for each other, resulting in phonebills from an other planet and falling asleep in bed with my computer, after long nights of chatting.. I was finally on my way over the pound, 21 hours travel, one stop in NYC, two long distance flights before hitting Arizona. Every second closer to my love.. As I was sitting on the plane, I was permeated by the feeling of it being the best descission ever:) I counted clouds, m&m's and tried to pass time.. I just couldn't get there fast enough! Butterflies in my stomack, twisting and twirling by the thought of soon being in the arms of the man that I loved. Crazy how you can fall in love with someone even though you never met in person.. Even having the feeling of missing each other, like we had been parted for a long time. Love works in mysterious ways.

I arrived Tucson airport in the dark, it felt like I had traveled through time and space to get there. Bevildered by the time difference, my butt aking from sitting hours in an airplane and sleepy zzzzzleepy.. But O so excited at the same time!! After a quick look in the mirror and brushing of teeth. I went down the escelator to meet my love, my heart was pounding as every clicketi-clack brought me closer.. He saw me first, I caught his eyes, I think time stopped for both of us. Somehow I got over to him, all while gazing into his green eyes. Amazed by how beautiful they were. I didn't even know they were green, I thought they were brown.. Hhaha So much for crappy photos. We hugged for the longest time. It felt so good to finally feel him, to be close to him and smell him. Being there together for real, be able to do normal stuff that normal couples do. Be able to have a date, that didn't consist of never ending chats, sitting on each our side of the earth. Be able to HAVE a date at all! It felt like I had found the last piece of the puzzle fell on place.. Finally home! We held hands and small talked all the way home. Like we had never been appart and it had allways been us. We had 3 weeks of fun and happiness. Sharing everything and getting even closer. It was waaaay too short! After the sweet scratch and so on... It took all my will power to get on that plane back. I cried when it took off, for every up and down and further away I got, and finally when it hit ground in Norway, half a globe away from the man that my heart belonged to!

3 1/2 miserable months of waiting, endless phonecalls, texting, chatting, pain, tears and more tears followed.. Before he FINALLY came to Norway, we had decided that it was no way we could live without each other! Sweet as he is he said he would move here, since it would be easier for him to move than for me and he would never ask me to do such a thing for him. He quit his job over the last 6 years and sold his belongings. Finally together again:D And this time hopefully for ever! That's before we understood it wasn't just that easy.. Getting a job and a visa wasn't done in a snap. Laws and regulations saying that he was more than welcome to work, but on the other hand NOOOO.. A laberint of a bureaucratic world from hell and endless paper work! He stayed 3 months on his tourist visa before we had to wave each other off for the second time. Even worse this time around, after spending every single moment of ever day together, as long a I wasn't working that was. We had to put an end to it. Every day appart, felt like one day too many...

28.2.2009, we got married in a Little White Wedding Chappel in Las Vegas:) We went there on holiday the first time I came to visit and we very much feel like it is "our" town, a very natural choice. Needless to say, we had the TIME of our lifes celebrating our love!!;) Only me and him. It was romantic, special, intimate and fun and all those things you want it to be! Our pastor was an old man with coca cola bottle bottom glasses and fish eyes. The real deal, no Elvis here.. He insisted on saying a praier for us even though we're not religious (maybe he thought we needed it;), and also give us a real Christian ceremony with talk of Jesus and God, but so be it. It made him happy. And I couldn't be happier! I was with my man and we would finally be able to be together. After the ceremony the pastor stuck an envelope in our hands saying: suggested tip, 50$ 80$ or 100$.. We were really surprised as no one had mentioned it and we thought we had paid for everything. Apparently not! (If you ever get married in Vegas, remember to have tip on you for the priest) We only had a visa card...:/ He looked quite desperate for a bit, before he concluded with that we had his address and that we could send it to him......... (Very Christian indeed). The limo driver on the other hand said that it didn't matter, as long as we got a long and happy life together, that was the main thing. Quite ironic you ask me.

A couple of months later my love moved to Norway for the second time. He came just a few days before our National Day this year and has stayed here all through summer and autumn up till now. We applied for a visa, filling out never ending aggravating forms and applications. Providing them with our story, lots of photos and gave them our life on a silver platter pretty much. They said it could take 5 months before we heard anything more... Last week we started to really worry since we hadn't heard anything more. My man was climbing the walls, not being able to work, being a housefather and in charge of the kitchen and all. I called in. Guess what?? WE GOT IT!!!:D Yes WE, not him, it feels like we.. We are going through this very much as a WE. And now WE got it!! Soooooooooooooo happy and relieved!!!!! Things are falling into place:) bestest Christmas present EVER!

I've not been able to write for days now, a week maybe.. Christmas has arrived with all sorts of Christmas preparations, arrangements and soscialization... Jolly jolly happy! Christmas table at work (with a splendid after party that lasted all morning, with strangers met in the dark of the night), beer fiest the day after (doing a rare double night, because a promise I made to my man. Never back out of a promise) and a totally new position at work together with my old one has kept me awfully busybusy all week!!:S

I also had my hand read on my way between the Christmas table to more beer out. A random meeting at a road cross down town. A gentleman asked for the time. Turned out he reads energies and hands for a living. That's when I popped out my hand. Peculiar experience, scary how much one can read out of a hand...

I've made a scaresome lil' package of frightful art for you that I found while working late this eve, since we're closing in on the jolly season... Be very aware of the Christmas ghouls;)

I'll be celebrating my first Thanksgiving today, it will also be the first together with my love. It's probably one of the last american holidays that hasn't made it over here yet.. Hmmm something tells me it's probably just matter of time before the turkey comes knocking on our door;) People love celebrations and and very much need it I think.. Thanksgiving is celebrated the last Thursday of November and it's a perfect time to squize in a celebration in this part of the world, as the the dark is pretty much consuming us this time of the year. I think the sun goes down around 03:00-03:30 at the moment... Incredible. I don't think I'll ever get used to it, it's the same when summer come and we have those long, bright everlasting days.. Beautiful and magical! But today I'll raise the glass and do a toast for the old tradition that started out long time ago, when some of the first settelers came over to America. The indians helped them out and showed them how to catch eel and grow corn to survive the harsh winters. The first Thanksgiving was celebrated to thank God for helping the pilgrims for surviving the first brutal winter and lasted for no more than three days! Think I'll go for the one day..

While writing my post about the horror-mingos, I found that it rapidly grew toooootally out of proportion and into an over sized, monster flamingo story including all sort of yummi mingo stuff for hungry plastic bird fans and haters out there. The more I looked, the more bevildered I got into the mad underworld of the O so loved and hated plastic lawn bird.. I had to pick my gigant scissors out and cut the story up in smaller pieces, you can concider this as a part two of three mingo posts in a total...

The plastic flamingos were designed by Don Featherstone in 1957. They are the most famous lawn ornaments in the states, along with garden gnomes and has become a cult icon for pop culture. They won him the Ig Nobel Prize for Art in 1996. The original pink flamingos made from 1987 and onward can be id'd by the signature of Don Featherstone located on the rear underside. They were sold in pairs, with one standing upright while the other were bending down. In 2009, the city of Madison, Wisconsin Common Council designated the plastic flamingo as the city's official bird. After a famouse student prank back in 1979 were more than 1000 (!) mingos were placed out first day of classes!! The pink flamingos has even created a lawn greeting industry where flocks of pink flamingos or other plastic figures are installed on a "victim's" lawn in the middle of the night. It's something about the pink cult bird that seems to inspire people, either it is it's cult status or what it symbolise, a trip down memorie lane or the simple fact that it's fun and pink. A quick search on google led me to an unknown world of mingo art and displays.. Lean back and get ready to be MINGOED!!;)

The Beckhams recently bought two little piggies for no less than $2,266 and named them Elton and David, after their good friends Elton John and his life partner David Furnish. Mmmmm they should be flattered, right..? Breeder Jane Croft reports that the demand for micro pigs are rizing and it seems like "everyone" wants a little piggie buddy these days. They are said to be the fourth most intelligent species after man, monkey and dolphin. In other words, within the same intellectual range as some of the miniature dog accessorize owners. They (the pigs) are also easily litter box trained and are non-allergenic, since pigs have hair, not fur. It sounds like these little piggies are ready to kick some skimpy dog ass!;) Hollywood next.. Just curious, what happends to the dogs? Two handbags?? Or will they need to share? Or even worse.. They have to stay home with James, as James is sooooooo last years too.

Sweet lord, what a a busy week! Feels like I don't even have time to exhale between everything that's thrown over me at work:/ Yaaaiiiiiiiks!!! Christmas is moving in like a buldozer in a china cabinet and unlike for most other people (?) it's the most busy time of the year with the project that I'm working on. Part from the summer, which is basically mayham too! It could probably be the reason to why I all the sudden feel all jingle bell jolly? It will be the first Christmas for me and my love together, our FIRST Christmas!! Can't believe it. Yeaaahhhiiii, so excited!!! The other two years we've been spending with our phones attached to our ears with duck tape, in dispair of being half a globe away from each other... Talk about jingle bell blues...! Everything has basically been a "first" this year..

Our story starts two years ago. Girl meets boy, they fall in love and all of that.. But we're not talking the traditional way. We're talking viritual dating and falling madly, deeply in love, going like a glowing, hot wire between Norway and the U.S. Forming a realitionship so deep, tender, sweet and pure I think we both were totally and utterly blown away of what we had found.. On the other side of the planet. Impossible, some would say. Fantastic!! Yes impossible I also thought it was, that I would fall in love with someone the cyberway.. I wouldn't have dreamt of it in a million years. Maybe it's just a lack of imagination to start with;) haha Mmm but seriously, I allways thought I would have to have the fysical part to fall in love.. To be able to flirt, touch and see.

We fell in love despite that. The sparking magic of pure connection and words.. At times when we were writing, I could swear that I felt his presence in the room and all around me, though we were miles away and I never even had met the guy. And I'm absolutely positively sure that I felt that first kiss, even though it was a viritual one;) He was with me every minute and second of the day, it was impossible to concentrate on anything. I walked around like a love zombie, blind to everything else, my whole existence revolved around this other person thousands of miles away. Like a drug. Couldn't have enough and I would gladly overdose on him any day if I were given the chance!

Days turned into nights as we turned the day around. Being so far away meant that the time difference worked against us 9 hours. It also meant that most nights I wouldn't get much sleep at all. I would bring my computer to bed and chat all night, or talk on the phone till I dozed away.. The mornings for my part were spent in front of the mirror applying makeup on with one hand, while chatting with the other, and/or while having him on the phone. Most of the time with the videochat on. Glory, glory, halleluja.. Texts and more chatting through out the day, allways there. Allways connected. At some point I developed some sort of veird, disordered emotions for my computer and cell. It's like my electronic devices turned into the real, flesh and blood man that I was in love with! ahha Madness. Hmmm that's when I found out that I had to get my butt over the pond to find out if it really was as good as I thought before I turned nuts over here...!!

I quicly learned that nothing is impossible! Something I had forgot through years in the wrong relationship..

Swine flu, here we come!

We've decided to just give a big shit about any lurking danger from the big, bad swine flu. The chances are really small that we'll get it at my cousin's anyway. They cleaned the whole place down, even the sofa didn't escape the clean freaks;) I think it's just as likely that we'll get it somewhere else. Soooo we went present shopping last evening, at the mall, in a toy store, full of kids with runny noses! Probably the worst place to be right now? Besides that, I'm amazed by all the stuff that they come up with for the kids.. We found this coolest little, classic, black piano in there! Hmmm wonder if there is any chance I can wish for a toy piano for Christmas?? If I been a good girl that is... Fat chance. After looking at all sorts of goodies, we came out on the other side with a globe with lights and animals on the map showing where they belong. If I were a kid I would love that!!:)

I allways had an attraction to globes.. It holds some sort of mystery in it, allmost magical. Like an entrance to different worlds, the thought of all the places that lies there undiscovered.. By me. Makes me wanna travel and experience these places. My grandparents used to have one that we would gather around to spin and see where to go. Where ever the finger landed we had to visit. I guess I allways been an adventurer, since i was 2 1/2 and bicycled away on my three weeler... Out to discover the world! haha I still remember the feeling that gave me, total freedom and excitement of the undiscovered! The world was no longer just the playground.. Till my mom managed to hunt me down and bring me in that is, but I got quite far. I can imagine the horror! My first adventure.. Been a few after that;)

Sooooo O happy it's Friday!!:D Finally weekend and time to exhale! Been a long week at work, reeeeeally looking forward to wind down a bit.. We're supposed to be tending a birthday together with the rest of the family this weekend, but we're having some second thoughts since they just had the swine flu in the house..:/ We're not sure if it's worth the risk.. My man went through surgery this spring and had to remove one of his kidneys, which puts him in the risk zone as I have understood it.. On the other side, how hysterical are we gonna allow ourself to get! Can't stop living either just cuz of this stupid swine flu and we're just as likely to get it while we're at the mall or at some bar I guess... Dilemma. Me want cake!!;) haha

It's something special about that first snow that falls.. Cold, white flakes dancing down from the sky.... Like a peaceful winter scene from a silent movie. Beautiful! Though I have to admit today was rather unpleasent, a harsh wind whipping these first white flakes around house corners and cross the city streets like wet cotton bombs, in under scarfs and jackets. No matter how tight I pulled my scarf, the wind still seemed to find some way to pierce through my defence. My umbrella served as a shield against the attacks.. Which worked quite fine, till I allmost hit a comercial sign. Art of the city. The reason for being out in this lovely weather you might ask your self.. The fun has just began, we still have 5 more months with snow and wind, and not to forget the darkness that embraces us from all around this time of the year. Welcome King Winter! Time to hibernate.. Where's that remote!?

Post Halloween Vacuum...

I'm in a bit of a vacuum right now, Halloween is over for this time and all our scary projects too.. Hmmmm or are they? We have decided to work a bit on props and stuff all year around. Hmmm and isn't it just an excellent hobby? Mooohahahha!! Making ghouls and scary props can be quite cozy, believe it or not and we have really fun doing it:) We've been talking some more about starting up a haunted house, like one of those that you find in the U.S... I think it's an awsome idea, but it's still just an idea. Clearly Halloween is about to hit off in Norway, if it hasn't allready.. I saw a huge difference from last year, people seemed to be much more into it this year. The stores were quite busy, full of people shopping Halloween stuff. Also we noticed a change when we went out, clearly more people had dressed up and seemed to be coming from a Halloween party this year. We stumbled down to Dr. Jeckyll's after midnight some time, a bar down town with that cozy Halloween theme all year around style to it;) We met everything from scary pirates, Draculas to full rabbit costumes in there, I'm very pleased to find that it finally seems to be picking up here! haha

Our Halloween party went great!!:) Everyone seemed very pleased with our grusome decoration in our Cabinet Of Death! haha My creepy, little spidercakes went rather well, they looked quite alive as my sister pointed out. Really easy to make and something I will have on the menu for next year too;) I've been taking a few photos of some of the props and decoration we had up in the hallway, unfortunately I didn't have time to take any of the the gory, headless guy outside, but I know someone did.. I'll add it together with photos from inside our Cabinet of Death later on, so please do check in again for more haunting photos;)

I was never one of those girls who wanted to be a ballerina as a kid, I was more of a tomboy climbing trees and getting dirty.. Three days till Halloween and my costume is still not here! Arrrrgh!! I thought that two weeks would be plenty of enough time to get it shipped over.. Guess not. Blah! Well, over to plan B! I've decided to go as a dead ballerina if my costume doesn't arrive till Saturday. I'll use my white petticoats and I'll get some ribbons to wrap around my legs.. White skin and hair, doll makeup and a gory slashed up neck wound, with drrrrrripping blood!! Killed by one of the other ballerinas at the opera, because I did the pirouette better;) ahha

Went on some more halloween shopping yesterday, got some red paint and have started the signs we're gonna put up:) In the meanwhile, I hope we don't scare the neighbores away.. HELLCOME to our neighborhood! giggle Little Sam is done and looks creepingly alive... Our own grusome, little Sam to greet the guests! With a big, bloody knife. Trick or treat! Toilet monster is all set and the our lovely, lil' mansion is coming nicely together. As if I ever had any doubts;)

I just love these creepy spider cupcakes from Martha Stewart!! Gotta have'em for our Halloween table this year!!!:D Easy made and just perfect for our cabinet!! Can't wait to see our guests expression when they see them, probably a couple that will skip the dessert... More for me. Moooahhahahha! The ladies' fingers are just awsome, but I think they will have to wait till next year as it seems to be a bit more work with them... I never claimed to be a super house wife with the baking bowl in one hand and my husbands slippers in the other. One baking project is enough for this gal';)

Our Cabinet Of Death is slowly coming together. My man is working on half a dousin little projects, gholish looking creatures lying around waiting for being put up. In the meanwhile it looks like a slaughter house in here. We have a couple of legs sticking out by the entrance door, making my mom run to the toilet everytime she stops by.. Hhaha Promising. For the longest time I froze every time I saw them, even I knew they were there and made of cardboard. They look so real, wearing my husband's trousers and shoes... O darlin', are you..? Quite bizzare. Also we have a horrifying, demon looking creature guarding our door, waiting to be put up in the toilet. We decided to wait till the longest with that one, as we're not quite sure how the neighbour will react to a demon leaning over the toilet, as she takes a pee in the middle of the night... Hhahahhaa

Saturday we turned the boxes at the second hand store upside down in the search for a cute baby costme for our little Halloween ghoul Sam. After searching the boxes in and out, we finally found the perfect little outfit that we had in mind. Very childish and inocent looking, but simple:) Now we just need to find him a weapon. At first we were thinking of a knife, we also have been concidering a broken popcicle (like in the movie), or a small toy chainsaw that we found in the store on Saturday.. haha What ever we go for, I think they all will look really cool together with the bloody trick or treat bag!!;) Our little monster trick or treater!

I've been looking around for some cool Halloween makeup and found these three styles that I would love to try out!! I also found Makeup Styles, a blog that shows you how to get the look that you want to achive. Worth a try you ask me! What about teaming up with a friend if you're not too steady with the brushes;)

Seasonal horror...

We had a gory movie night yesterday with the rather disturbing Rob Zombie movie House Of 1000 Corpses and a large bowl of popcorn. No more nightmares, strangly enough.. Maybe I'm adjusting to my new surroundings? Or maybe my surroundings just seemed some what "normal" after the disturbing images in the movie. Never the less, a great movie to warm up for Halloween with;) It was my beloved husband that introduced me to it, I can't believe that I've missed out on this movie! Horrifying story, twisted and disturbing!! I really loved the wicked dollheads, I'm thinking how easy it would be to make and how great they would be for any disturbing dsiplay.. Also thought that the murder ride was totally rad.. hahhah A little harder to copy though. Maybe I should get myself a haunted house;) Moooohahahah

Also we watched Trick 'r Treat a couple of weeks ago, an other great Halloween story! I love the little Halloween spirit Sam. The combination of the babysuit and the horrible creature that he is makes him all the more scary! It was after watching this movie we decided to make a little Trick r' Treater Sam of our own this Halloween. With a twist, our Sam will have a wicked clown mask instead of the mask he is wearing in the movie. We'll have him by the coats, greeting the guests as they come in... With a bloody trick or treat bag in one hand and a knife in the other:) Cute!

O isn't it just lovely to wake up and have your first morning coffee, by a scull decorated table and surf the world for gory props and ideas? Which by the way resulted in an other horrifying dream last night.. What you say about being chased by a bunch of madmen and a set of vintage fake teeth? And a wild car chase to top it with!? Every time I woke up, I could swear that the monster in the corner was alive.. In the morning light, I could see that my "monster" was indeed our wintercoats and not so much alive.. Scary monster. Sounds just like an other Halloween nightmare to me. Hmmm ask me in 10 days time, maybe I'm not so cocky about it by then..

O joy, only 10 days left!! Exciiited! Yet a bit nervous for my costume:/ I couldn't see that it was sent with the tracking number I was given.. Which gives me a bit of a bad feeling.. Crossing legs, fingers, hair and toes and pretty much everything else I got!!! In the mean while I'll occupy my worried mind with some more satisfying issues. Like which haunted house to chose for our wall decor. I've decided to print out a few pictures (found at Photobucket) of haunted houses to hang on the wall over our family photos, maybe a grave yard or two to go with it! I think it will add that extra spooky feel to our Cabinet Of Death...

After hours on internet searching for a cool costume, I decided to go for a sassy Marie Antoinette costume this year with loats of petticoat sticking out underneath! I think it will look just GRRRRREAT with a slashed throat, white powdered skin and doll makeup, a big powdered wig with flowers and feathers. My horror now is that I bought all the bits and pieces at different sites, I'm crossing legs and fingers for them to arrive before the big day!! If not... Guess I'll have to go wild in the closet and see what I turn out as. As we're speaking, my dear man is laying his final touch on a small giljotin model, that I'm sure will be the party favourite this year! hahah

As allways, we are doing some redecoration this time of the year... Our little appartment is slowly turning into a horrifying, haunted dungeon from hell! This year we have chosen the O so suiting name "Cabinet Of Death" Moooaaaahhahaha!! Enter if you dear...

I've been surfing the entire web for props we can use to make our cozy little place into a frightful cabinet. In my search for inspiration and gory home decor I have stumbled over some goodies that I like to share:)

The labels from Love Manor just blew me away, they are absolutely gorgeous! I printed them out in color and have used them on all our kitchen jars, bottles, jars and more bottles.. Our shelf looks like some wicked witch's shelf right now, or something taken out from some horrifying lab you don't want to be caught in by the mad scientist.. Hahah together with our "family portraits" it looks pretty spooky. I'm not sure how I'm gonna sleep here for the next two weeks as it's slowly developing into the Cabinet Of Death. I allready had spooky dreams last night, dreaming of all the crazy props and stuff I've been searching up. To good of an imagination is not allways good....

Ralph Lauren's Lollipop Ghouls of the year has shaken up the whole world and forced the fashion house to go out with an official appology. Not so strange when nothing seems natural about the model's body on the photo. They have photoshoped the model look more or less like the scary, real life little sister of Barbie or some awareness add for anorexia. She makes me think of one of these paper dolls I played with as a kid... My first reaction to the photo is to feel sorry for the girl, because I think she is sick and about to die! What's wrong with the people in the fashion industry when they think it's perfectly OK to portrait the woman body like this? It's something very sick and very wrong about the industry all together. Photoshopping allready skinny bone models, using skinny boys for their women collection and young girls that hasn't grown any curves yet and jumps straight into their size 0. What about showing the beauty of the woman body, instead of photoshopping it away to an unrecognisable paperdoll?? Wonder what's next..? Straw Woman? I don't believe in their appology, I only believe in a change. Let women be women!

But how could I resist? After a long hard fucked up day at work, were I also got sacked like a sack of potatoes the day before.. Maybe not exactly, but that's how it feels. It's not that bad, or lets face it it is (need to stay positive, need to stay....). I can't seem to make up my mind about how bad it is, but here's how it goes: I've been working at the same project for some years now, after quitting my interior design school, thinking this would get me somewhere and also not having the heart to watch it go down the drain. The guy who was running the project before me got so sick of it he couldn't stand it anymore and all he wanted to do was to hide in bed all day with the covers over his head (that's how fun it is, so I should be glad). That's when I came in the picture as I was the only other one with any knowledge about it, which I must say was fairly minor at the time.. I jumped in to save it, like Wonder Woman on a train wreck, worked my ass off, managed to turn the fast downgoing graph upwards. And here I am a few years later, our company merged with an other big company this year. That's when everything changed. For the last years I've been working as an assistant on the project with a colleague, after teaching her what ever I knew about it so she could run it. This seems to have made me to the extra potato on the plate that they now don't need any more, as we are a bigger company than before and they have different ways of doing things. Instead they offered me 50% work at the front desk, and joy they want me to still go on with the project and do what ever I have been doing, the fun part is that they want to cut it down to 15 h a week (it's most of the time a 80% job, sometimes more than 100%). Someone must believe in miracles on the company board. They also said that maybe I can do it while I do my tasks at the front desk.. Someone looking for a two in one toy? My fine superior also wanted to know what I have been studying, he laughed a bit when I told him (the rotten bastard). Obviously he didn't think it was very relevant, and it's not at all. But what he seems to forget is that I have been in the business for several years now and I have experience, not only from this project. All I can say is, it's bloody hell by time to look for something new!!

It was after leaving work Tuesday, the day after the disasterous day, after having the ground underneath me being pulled away... Yes I did sin. The worse weather ever, rain pooring down like someone was standing with a waterhose up there and deliberately pointing it at us, the wind blowing it up underneath the useless umbrella making everything wet. Giving us a strange longing for full rubber costumes, fully water proofed and tried out for decades at sea by rough fishermen! Glorious autumn weather. That's when we decided to seek shelter from the weather at Last Train, a little rock bar down town. Coming in we saw them rigging up their equipment. Concert! On a Tuesday? One beer later and the desission was made, lets stay to check it out! (It usually starts with one beer, doesn't it)? More people coming and slowly filling up, turning out it is a release party. Some champagne later, a few beer and chillinuts they started. And WOW, what a pleasent surprise!! The band Seven were well worth the wait and the 80,- that they charged us for staying!!:D A sort of poped rock music. I really loved the cords, the beat, the vocal, yes the whole sound! Finding a new band that you like, is like finding a jewle among stones!! Long story short, Great night! Getting to talk to the bandmembers afterwards was really a plus. I love the small stage concerts, such a different feeling than the big productions.. Hmmm and guess what? One of the two cd's that was thrown off of stage landed softly in my lap, just where it belonged, after bouncing off some guys chest and hitting my love's hand!;) Karma?

Ps: Also worth mentioning, later on that night we were offered 7 weeks of FREE dancing classes in salsa by some salsa instructor from a dance school down town!! He thought we had such a good spark and connection when we were dancing lol... Though my man think he's just trying to be smart because he wants to dance with me hahha, call me naive, but I like thinking that he was genuinly nice! Hve to have some faith in people. Guess it will be salsa from now on! And my sin? Well, being out in the middle of the week again (no need to say the next day were spent in front of the computer like a zombie, working home)... But with all of that coming, I'm sure I'm allready forgiven;) A little ash on my wings allways suited me anyway..

A little "secret" from the 50's, at least one that I didn't know of.. Cuz who would think that the sexy pinup chics of the 50's armed them selfs with four layered padded bras, with suspension bridge tecnology to enchance their curves and bring their breasts to new heights and volumes..?? Apparently long before silicon was the common substance to stuff your breasts with and maybe in the lack of having such a thing and tennis socks was last years.. This four padded bras known as a Fling was used among the burlesque artists, show girls, strippers and yes our beloved Marilyn Monroe and probably most of the pinups back then. Marilyn's "wonderbra" went on auction in England earlier this year and was expected to fetch a staggering 2,000 £!!

"Katie Halford, a designer of vintage lingerie firm What Katie Did, said Fling bras were worn by strippers and burlesque artists and were hardly seen today. She said: "These bras would have been invisible under clothing and ideal for wearing under halter-neck dresses, like the one she wore in the Seven Year Itch."

The Fling together with a corsette made Marilyn Monroes curves world famous till this day. But the stunning 37-23-36 didn't come without the technology of her times push in, push up and boosts and God knows what else. A bit dissapointing all in all, but Marilyn is still an icon to me and will allways be, four padded bras or not. This was not what made her special to me and I like to think to most of you people, it was her inner beauty that shone through. That's what true beauty is all about. You can add all the tecnology in the world and rearange your face as much as you want, but nothing will ever meassure up to it!

God, it felt like I had been hit by a train when I woke up this morning. Must be that tequila that I at some point of the night, for some veird reason thought was a veeeeery good idea. Ya right! Like it hardly ever is on a Wednesday night, especially not if working the next day. Yup, guilty... I was out shrinking my brain again. All this talk about Corona made me thirsty, touring dark rocker pubs after some very long, boring hours at work felt like a very tempting option. Aiaiai and I must admit, it felt GREAT!!:)After a day of feeling like I was the centre of a catastrophe, a stumbeling hassard for myself and my surroundings. Knowing that I didn't have much work waiting and that I could work home today made it O so easy. Maybe a bit too easy. I usually get quite bad hangovers and are very disabled the day after a night out. They are usually spent in front of the tellie, craving everything sweet, salty and fatty that I can get my hands on. While my sweet, caring man nurses me back to life. Making food and coffee, served in bed, eaten in recovery position. I know, quite pittyful.. lol Today on the other hand it was all rise and shine and get that booty over to the computer. Ready for a new daaaaaaayyyyyyyyyzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZzzz.....---------------------------biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip

If you for some reason think you have too large of a brain, or find your self to be to bright for your surroundings. There is hope! A recent study by american researchers found that drinking alcohol shrinks your brain. It shows that even low alcohol consumption such as 1-7 glasses of wine a week effects the part of your brain that has functions such as your memorie and orientation. Hmmmmm this could explaine my lack of english the day after a late night out...:S Lovely! On the positive side, the same study reports that beer shrinks your brain 10% less than wine does!! Yeeeaaaahiii an other good reason for choosing my Corona;D

Well, matter of fact, me having a lazy Sunday, while my husband is going wacco with the soaps and cleaners today, scrubbing down the kitchen.. Even the walls doesn't escape the Washinator! Yaaaaawn!! Where did he find this energy? ahah lol I'm surfing the internet while trying to ignore the sound of the scrubs and the eager headphones-on-serenade. An inner voice telling me I should join in on this cleaner revolution and get the hoover out. Rock the hoover bebe! Maybe in a little g-string.. Lets see what the Washinator is made of;) Is it pure Titanium, or is it part flesh and blood??

Every day can be a new beginning or an other adventure on the steps, just waiting to unfold;) Can be as simple as taking a new road home from work... I think I'll be having my little adventure in a bit. Biking out in the tiger city. That's an adventure in it self; to be or not to be.. In form of getting your face smashed in on the front of the public bus or someone's wind shield :S
